One of my favorite types of quilts to make is one for someone who is going through a very difficult time, as I feel that quilts offer a comfort like no other.
This particular quilt was designed for a very special friend's husband who was going through treatment for cancer. Being motorcycle owners I felt that the bright colors and prints in this quilt would help to cheer them on even the most difficult of days. I used a theme of black, orange, and yellow with motorcycle themed fabrics and a triangle pattern.
This was my first time using triangles in this way and while challenging and a little bit difficult, I was very pleased with the end result. I free motion quilted this in a random all over meandering pattern, and used a scrap binding around the edges.
